PCG joins CBI Trade Council

05 March 2010

The PCG, which represents freelancers, interim managers, contractors and consultants, has been invited to join the CBI's Trade Association Council.

According to the organisation, the invitation recognises the important and valuable contribution that PCG can make to the current and future debate on workforce, employment and resourcing issues.

A report just published by PCG, entitled Freeing Up Growth: How to harness freelance talent for business success, highlights the important role that flexible, freelance, agile professionals will play in the next decade and beyond.

Meanwhile, a recent report by the CBI said that a significant number of businesses will move to a new employment model where the core of permanent staff is smaller and a greater number of freelancers, consultants and temporary workers are used.

Both reports provide an excellent insight into how businesses are likely to adapt and evolve in the aftermath of the credit crunch and recession.

John Brazier, managing director of PCG said the key trends presented in the reports support PCG's view that the workplace and workstyle will change dramatically over the next ten years.

He added that interims and freelance contractors - who working in many vital rolls such as HR, payroll, marketing and IT - are now recognised as important contributors to UK plc, adding £82 billion to the economy.
