What are news feeds?

News feeds allow you to see when websites have added new content. Subscribing to a series of news feeds is an increasingly common way of keeping up to date with news from a diverse range of sites.

Feeds are also known as RSS. There is some discussion as to what RSS stands for, but most people call it ”Really Simple Syndication”. In essence, the feeds themselves are just web pages, designed to be read by computers rather than people.

If you register for the Interim Channel you will be able to set up your own news feed to get the latest jobs that are relevant to you, as soon as they are published.

How do you use a news feed?

The first thing you need is a piece of software called a news reader. This checks the feeds and lets you read any new articles that have been added. There are many different types of news reader, some of which are accessed using a browser, and some of which are downloadable applications.

Once you have chosen a news reader, all you have to do is to decide what content you want it to receive.

How do I get a news reader?

There is a range of different news readers available and new versions are appearing all the time. Different news readers work on different operating systems, so you will need to choose one that will work with your computer.

How do I subscribe to a news feed?

If you want to subscribe to a news feed in the Interim Channel you will have to register as a member.

Once you have registered, you will be able to set up a news feed on the basis on any search results. Just search for some interim management jobs and then click on the orange feed icon that will appear on the search results page.
