You will need advanced skills in analysis and interpretation of information, strategy development, needs assessment, communication and negotiation skills aswell as experience of team development and budget management.
Main duties
Key areas of work include responsibility for health improvement targets and priorities and tackling health inequalities through partnership work with the local Council, NHS providers and the voluntary sector using frameworks like the Local Strategic Partnership, Local Area Agreement, PCT Board Structure and Practice Based Commissioners.
Key skills
The post holder will assist the Director of Public Health in delivering a work programme for the Directorate and require the following skills, knowledge and experience;
Masters in Health Promotion / Public Health or a related subject; working towards registration as a public health consultant / specialist.
Experience of working in the NHS in a senior / head of service capacity.
