A local authority is seeking an Interim Head of Legal, Licensing and Registrars Service for the duration of 3 to 6 months.
The main responsibilities will be:
- Assist in the implementation of the review of Legal Services and the recruitment of a new Head of Legal, Licensing and Registrars Service.
- Follow-up opportunities for joint legal service provision with other local authorities
- Undertake the day to day management of the legal services teams (litigation lawyers, and legal executives undertaking council’s debt collection and re-possession work)
Ideally the candidate needs to have ideas about the delivery of legal and other services and have a local government background in legal services at a Head of Service level in a large authority, London Borough, Unitary or team leader in a Metropolitan authority. The focus of the role will be the review rather than team building which will be the role of the permanent post-holder when recruited. Part-time working can be considered for this role
